Complēre exists to help philanthropic leaders make evidence-informed decisions. Our platform aggregates and structures findings from thousands of benefit-cost analyses, program evaluations and other reports. We take our responsibility to the research community seriously.
We curate studies from publicly available sources, including government agencies, research organizations, university-affiliated research centers, and peer-reviewed publications. The process of selecting studies is designed to limit bias based on political or other perspectives. We follow standard academic practice—tracing citations from published bibliographies and meta-analyses to primary sources.
Our database contains structured findings such as effect sizes, confidence intervals, populations studied, methodologies, and outcome measures. We do not reproduce full texts or host copyrighted documents.
Every finding in our platform links to its original source. Proper attribution supports the researchers and institutions whose work makes evidence-based philanthropy possible. Since Complēre sources publicly available information including pre-print academic papers, where applicable users are encouraged to review the final publication.
If you are a researcher or publisher with concerns about how your work appears on our platform, contact us. We are committed to respecting intellectual property while advancing access to evidence that improves lives.
Complēre works alongside leadership and staff at philanthropic organizations like a research assistant to help identify studies that can inform decisions about grant making, policy development, and strategic direction. We recommend exercising your expertise and discretion before incorporating cited reports into your documents and review their relevance and placement.
To obtain permission to use, publish, or distribute any part of a report, contact the author or publisher directly. We do not endorse or support any claims made in the curated studies, cited reports or linked third-party resources.
Resources in the database do not represent the total universe of research available on a topic. While search results may be relatively comprehensive, particularly regarding topics related to poverty reduction, search results are not necessarily exhaustive. Complēre is not designed to offer legal, financial, or medical advice.
